How to Nail Your Admission Appointment March 29, 2021

Feeling nervous about your tour? You’ve already done the most difficult part, reaching out for information! But if you are still feeling apprehensive here are a few helpful pointers to help you have a successful career planning session.

Be on time!

There are many things we will be discussing during your appointment. By coming in on time it will help us ensure that we are able to answer all your questions and still get you all the information you will need to know. We recommend coming in no earlier than 15 mins prior to your appointment so that your Admission Rep has plenty of time to prepare and support you to the best of their ability.

Dress appropriately.

While we want you to be yourself, it is important to make a great first impression. Personal appearance is a huge part of being successful in the beauty industry. You will want to be sure your appearance reflects your professionalism and eventually skillset. In an industry that works so closely with other people good hygiene is a must!

Come prepared!

You will get the most out of your appointment by setting yourself up for success.  While we are always happy to meet your family, we recommend finding a sitter for young children if possible. It can make it a bit difficult to focus on important information and truly experience the culture and environment at The Academy. It is also a great idea to bring in a notebook with a few questions so you get all the answers you are needing. If you cannot think of any questions that is okay! Your Admissions Representative is here to provide the need to know information.

Bring in a member of your support team.

We always encourage bringing in a member of your support team. It will help you feel more comfortable and often they will help you remember which questions you wanted to ask during your tour.

It is especially important for dependent students to bring in their parent to fully understand the finance portion.

While this can be a nerve-wracking moment for many, we want you to enjoy your experience at The Academy. Career planning session are a fantastic way to experience The Academy and all that we have to offer. Don’t get too wrapped up in your thoughts and allow yourself to enjoy the experience! We cannot wait to meet you.

Bonus Tip- Complete Your FAFSA!

This is absolutely not required for a career planning session. If you are a bit overwhelmed with the Financial Aid process our Financial Aid Administrator is here to help! You will be meeting out Financial Aid Administrator during your tour and she is happy to answer your questions. But if you would like to get a head start and potentially go over what you may qualify for during your tour, be sure to complete your FAFSA 3-5 business days prior to your appointment.
